Celebrating the launch of Godot 4 with a new game jam

Hello indie devs! Godot 4 was released, which is a big milestone for Godot and the whole community. To celebrate, we kicked off a new game jam. This one is a little different than the last though. Instead of using one of our tutorials as a base, we’re using an open source game template we released called Tiny Wizard.

Tiny Wizard is a room-based shooter that pays homage to the indie classic, The Binding of Isaac. It’s built on top of our top-down shooter template. We thought it might be a little challenging if we just threw a new codebase in your laps, so we created a new video tutorial that walks you through the Tiny Wizard template and provides an example of creating a new room and enemy type.

Like the last game jam, we’re giving away cash prizes to the winners and donating money to the Godot project for each submission. Head on over to the game jam page to register. We can’t wait to see what you make!
